Description
The Geographic Information Laboratory (GI-Lab) was established at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2001 as a RESEARCH LAB specializing in GEOINFORMATICS.
Today, the GI-Lab focuses primarily on the use of geodata - satellite data, location based social network data as well as data from mobile devices - to better understand earth surface processes and human behavior in space. This is done using spatial analysis techniques including geostatistics as well as lab and field experiments and space- time modeling.
The Lab is also committed to graduate and post-graduate education of geographic information science.
