Science and technology education, as a discipline, investigates teaching and learning processes and provides a theoretical and practical framework for teachers’ professional development. The degrees offered by the Program for Science and Technology Education at Ben Gurion University of the Negev put, therefore, an equal emphasis on theory and practice, both in research and in teaching. The program enables teachers to observe, analyze, and deal with teaching and learning processes in their own classes deeply and comprehensively. In this way, teachers are given the opportunity to develop professionally and to become teacher-investigators who enhance their educational work with knowledge gained from their own research-based studies.
