Organization profile

The Ben Gurion University Goldman Sonnenfeldt School of Sustainability and Climate Change aspires to be a leading center for interdisciplinary research and teaching that advances essential solutions, focused strategies and policy for tackling present and future environmental challenges.

We believe that environmental degradation, the damage to climate systems, and dwindling of habitats and ecosystems, which significantly reduce our ability to maintain life-support systems, make it ethically and morally necessary to address these pressing issues. Furthermore, the complexity of the physical and biotic environments requires collaboration and interaction between diverse academic disciplines fields from the worlds of the natural sciences, engineering, health, social studies, and the humanities, which call on us, as an academic institution, to study and teach these disciplines. At BGU, we strive for synergy in research and teaching, the pooling of resources, and collaborations among researchers, which can bolster excellence in research, advance leading study programs, and strengthen BGU's national and international contribution.
