Personal profile

Research interests

My field of expertise is Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience. I am interested in the relation between the brain and behavior in the typical and atypical (for example, in FAS, and ADHD) development of two main abilities: 1. the executive aspects of attention and control – such as inhibitory control, monitoring, and error-detection – and their implications for the child’s self-regulation; and 2. the very early processing of numerosities, the beginning of the connection between digit symbols and their numerical meaning, and the internal mental representation of the number line. These two broad topics are also combined in some of my projects.  In my lab we use a multi-method approach including behavioral responses (reaction time, accuracy, gaze direction), as well as electrophysiological measurements (event-related potentials).
