Composer, Conductor, Arranger, 2015 Prime Minister Award for composer’s recipient, Associate Professor of Music at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
Prof. Cojocaru currently serves as Head of the Music Division in the Department of the Arts at BGU and as Composer in Residence for the Israel Symphony Orchestra.
He served as Conductor in Residence for the Israel Sinfonietta 2018-2023 and as a senior faculty member at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, in which he has also served as Chair of the Composition & Conducting Department 2018-2021.
His Compositions have been performed at various festivals and venues including “Euro Classic Festival” in Konzerthaus-Berlin, Arnold Schönberg Center-Wien, “Tonraum 21- Festival für neue musik” in Minoritensaal–Graz (Austria), ECSA festival in Luxembourg, MATA Festival in New York, ISCM Festival, "Days of Macedonian Music" in Skopje, “INTRADA” and “MERIDIAN” festivals for new music in Romania, ACL Festivals, the Ostbelgien Festival in Belgium, the 11th Taiwan International Percussion Convention, “Israel Music Festival”, “Desert Sounds Festival”, and more.
The preforming ensembles and orchestras include the Ensemble l'Intinéraire (France), Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (Rusia), Atem Ensemble (Romania), Zeitfluss Ensemble (Austria), Reconcil Ensemble (Austria), United instruments of Lucilin Ensemble (Luxembourg), Sturm und Klang Ensemble (Belgium), Meitar Ensemble, Israel Contemporary Players, Tremolo Ensemble, Tempera Ensemble, Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble, Israel Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Israel Sinfonietta, Israel Camerata - Jerusalem, Israel Contemporary String Quartet, and more. His works are published by the Israel Music Center (IMC) and the Israel Music Institute (IMI).
As a conductor, Cojocaru served as Conductor in Residence for the Israel Sinfonietta Orchestra (2018-2023). He also performed with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Wiener Concert-Verein (Austria), Filarmonica de Stat Botosani (Romania), Israel Chamber Orchestra, Israel Camerata-Jerusalem, Haifa Symphony Orchestra, Meitar ensemble, and more.
As an arranger, Mr. Cojocaru's works are performed by all major orchestras and ensembles in Israel including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israel Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, and more.
Moreover, In the Israel Popular music scene Cojocaru appeared in bestselling albums as a producer, musical director, arranger, conductor, composer, and pianist.
Ziv Cojocaru is the recipient of the 2015 Prime Minister Award for composers, 2002 ACUM grant for excellence in the fields of Composition & Arrangement, 2000 TAMUZ - Israeli Music award for best instrumental performance on a recorded album, and 2005-2007 Jerusalem Academy of Music & Dance Excellence Scholarships.
