Abstract
We argue that most of the experimental observations concerning Σ(1750, 1/2-) are understandable if to first approximation this resonance decouples from the Σπ and Λπ channels. We point out a rather widespread correlation between mixing angles and decoupled channels and speculate on its significance for a deeper understanding of the hadron masses.
