Abstract

This chapter is the postscript to a research conducted by Nir Mualam, Eyal Salinger, and Gal Noihaus-Feuerstein on the planning policy of 'vertical allocation'. The postscript suggests that this innovative policy, undertaken primarily by Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality, may be understood as part of a wider trend of cities' taking more autonomy from state authority.
