Abstract
Background: Worldwide, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted medical staffs׳ quality of life. From the start of the outbreak, understaffed medical personnel worked under challenging conditions and risked contamination. Professional QoLis composed of fatigue compassion (FC) and satisfaction compassion (SC). Fatigue compassion makes it difficult for medical staff to provide empathic care over the course of time. Organizational resilience is a multi-dimensional term that defines the capability of an organization to cope with challenges and learn from them.Purpose: To examine the level of professional quality of life (PQL) among nursing staffs, two years after the outbreak of COVID-19.Methods: Analytical cross section conducted among nurses in Israel, via digital survey. The three-part questionnaire addressed demographic and professional information, questions related to PQL attributes, and questions concerning organizational resilience. Results: Among the 173 participants (average age - 41.09), 65.4% were women and75.1% work in hospitals. A significant difference was found between nursing staffs that worked in COVID-19 departments and those in other departments. A positive connection was found between organizational resilience and SC (r = 0.403, p < 0.001),a moderate negative connection between SC and CF (r =-0.386, p < 0.001), and a low negative connection between organizational resilience and FC (r =-0.298, p < 0.001).Discussion: PQL was connected to work-related attributes, but not to demographic or personal characteristics. Relating to the literature, a nursing staff that worked in aCOVID-19 department showed a high rate of FC alongside a low level of PQL. However, the results of this research showed neither a decrease in SC nor in FC. It is of extreme importance and urgency to develop methods to improve organization resilience, as it has a direct impact on PQL components.
