Abstract
זכרון השואה בקרב יהודי ארצות-הברית נדד משולי התודעה, שם מוקם בתקופה הבתר-מלחמתית, למרכז ההוויה היהודית בשני העשורים האחרונים. הסיבות לאימוץ השואה כדת אזרחית בקרב יהודי אמריקה, יותר מאשר הן מורות על חזרה לתרבות ולערכי היהדות, הן משקפות את צורכי המקום והזמן. להיות אמריקני ולשרוד, פירושו כיום להשתייך לקבוצה בעלת ייחודיות, וככזאת נוכסה השואה על-ידי יהודי ארצות-הברית
