Abstract
The author discusses five syntagms which occur in two recently published early Hebrew inscriptions: (1) מת לא בנים 'He died childless'; (2) X מת 'x has (just) died'; (3) אשיהו המלך 'the king 'syhw'; (4) לתת ביד זכריהו 'give to zkryhw!'; (5) והיה ידך עמי 'help me!'
