מאמרם של ליאור זקס ־שמואלי וירוחם אביעד גולדמן עוקב אחר תהליכי קידוש המשפחה היהודית במאה השלוש עשרה בקסטיליה על ידי ניתוח דימויים קבליים חדשים ששימשו בסוגיות של אתיקה מינית בספרות טעמי המצוות הקבלית. לטענת המחברים המקובל הקסטיאליני ר' יוסף הבא משושן חידש מארג דימויים ייחודי בתגובה על האתגרים החברתיים שניצבו בפני ההנהגה הדתית בתקופתו, מתוך שאיפה לחזק את מגמות הפסיקה ההלכתית הפורמלית ולהשלים לקונות בה.This paper by Dr. Leore Sachs-Shmueli and Aviad Goldman delineates the process of sanctification of the Jewish family in the thirteenth century in Castile through the analysis of original kabbalistic images used in rationalizing Jewish ethics related to sexual conduct. It argues that the Castilian Kabbalist, R. Joseph of Hamad an, innovated these images as a response to the social challenges which faced the religious leadership at that period; a process enhancing the Halakhic formal legislation and addressing its lacunas.
