Abstract
1. The Ugaritic word bhtm ("houses") is the usual plural of the singular bt. However, the plural form btm, which may be compared to bāttîm in Hebrew, also occurs. 2. The usual Ugaritic masculine plural morpheme is -ūma/-īma. But, the morpheme -ūna/-īna, which is also found in Canaanite words in Egyptian texts of that period, occurs as well. These two cases may be respectively considered the earliest Northwest Semitic documentation of these two grammatical phenomena.
