Abstract
Jonathan Erez has spent his career making fundamental contributions to our understanding of foraminiferal physiology and calcification in both the biological and geological realms. Like many past recipients of the Joseph A. Cushman
Award, he has worked closely with the next generation of young foraminiferologists, providing them with his unique insight and ability to experiment on this unique group of protists. We look forward to Jonathan’s future discoveries and insight as his experiments probe the foraminiferal biomineralization event horizon.
