Abstract

Three dimensional (3D) magnetic tracking of a single subminiature coil with a large two-dimensional (2D)-array of uniaxial transmitters was studied. The receiving coil output was amplified and sampled by a precise electronic circuitry and fed into a computer for further processing. The field transmitted was approximated by the equivalent magnetic dipole field.
