Abstract
A new method of studying steady-state resonant vibrations at liquid-air interfaces, using recently developed ferrofluids, is described. In such liquids it is possible to set up vibrations by external magnetic fields alone. An arrangement incorporating such a system may be used to demonstrate resonances in the liquid and to study the mixing of magnetic forces at different frequencies.
