Abstract
The possibility was studied of a correlation between the blood level of CEA (carcino embryonic antigen) and the various types of skin tumors. The material consisted of 31 patients with basal cell epithelioma, spinocellular epithelioma, junctional nevus and malignant melanoma. The findings revealed a significant correlation (p=0.003) betwen the CEA level and basal cell epithelioma; in the other conditions, the CEA level had no diagnostic or prognostic significance.
