Abstract

A method for preparation of high specific activity 80mBr and 82Br is described. The method consists of reactor neutron activation of KBrO3 and enrichment of the radiobromine by the Szilard-Chalmers process using elution of the 82 + 80mBr with a water-isopropylamine mixture. This mixture dissolves only KBr but not KBrO3.
