A WKB estimate for the resistivity at zero temperature coefficient in granular systems

Abstract

The authors derive an estimate for the resistivity rho of granular materials for which the temperature coefficient (TCR) is zero. The derivation is based on the WKB approximation. The result is independent of the grain size and agrees with the experimental data of various granular systems within an order of magnitude. The relation between rho (TCR=0) and the resistivity at the metal-insulator transition is discussed.
