Abstract
A comparative analysis is given of the accuracy of gear-grinding machines with two grinding modes using a flat wheel: the traditional method, with the allowance on the tooth flank removed by the wheel endface; and a new method, with the allowance removed by the wheel periphery. It is shown that the second method gives better productivity, and at least as good accuracy as the first method in a wide range of gear parameters. Gear-grinding machine accuracy is calculated by the variation method, which permits the effect of various errors on the overall accuracy of the machine to be assessed.
