Abstract

The interaction of components of a solid solution (Fe-Ni-Cr-C) with a gas phase (CO-CO//2) at various pressures and a temperature of 1000 degree C was subjected to thermodynamic analysis. The concentration regions of stability of oxide and carbide phases with austenite and gas have been determined. This permits predictions of the surface layer composition after heat treatment in vacuo.
