Aggressive behavior of carcinoma of the colon associated with nonsecreting plasma cell myeloma: A case report

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A patient was diagnosed for nonsecreting myeloma stage IIIA (Salmon-Durie) 6 months after colectomy for adeno-carcinoma of the colon, Duke's stage A. The patient had not received chemotherapy for the colonic carcinoma and its clinical course was much more aggressive than expected. Although it might be coincidental, to our knowledge this is the first reported case of an association between a nonsecreting myeloma and adenocarcinoma of the colon.
