Abstract

The 30 papers include in this special issue are based on the proceedings of the fifth international conference of the Society of Applied Algology devoted to recent advances in algal biotechnology. Subjects covered include the growth physiology of Spirulina platensis, Porphyridium spp., Anabaena spp., etc. as well as the production of Dunaliella spp. and other algae for pigments or feeds for aquaculture. Other papers present work on algal biomass production in industrial processors such as photobioreactors. -J.W.Cooper
