Abstract

A new approach to design decoupling feeding networks for large antenna phased arrays is proposed. The approach is based on a combination of two existing methods, resulting in significant hardware savings. The decoupling network allows matching each of the input ports individually and independently of the excitation. A genetic algorithm was used to change the values of the components for optimum performance in case the decoupling network is lossy.
