Abstract
The radical ·CH2CO2- reacts with Cu2+ (aq) forming an unstable intermediate with a specific rate of (6·4 ± 1·5) × 108 1 mol-1 s-1; the intermediate, Cu-CH2CO2+, decomposes via a first-order process with k 2·8 ± 0·3 s-1.
