Abstract
A thermodynamic analysis is made of the phase equilibria in the Fe-Ti-C system in the 1750-2000 K temperature range in iron-rich regions. The liquidus lines of the phase diagram are constructed. It is shown that the equilibrium composition of the carbide phase in the range of real titanium and carbon concentrations in the metallic matrix of titanium carbide/steel alloys does not vary in practice and lies very near the upper boundary of the homogeneity range.
