Abstract
A new method for the analysis and computer simulation of cycloconverters is proposed. Lagrange equations are used to obtain differential equations governing cycloconverter processes. These differential equations are derived and solved for each interval of the period of cycloconverter operation. The solutions obtained are sewed together and a difference equation governing the whole period of cycloconverter operation is derived. A computer program realizing these equations has been developed. The program allows us to obtain the instantaneous voltages and currents for different cycloconverter topologies, taking into consideration their parameters, number of phases and control of firing angles. In the paper appear examples of applications of the program.
