Abstract
A major cause of the input current distortion in active power factor correction systems are the second harmonic components. Propagation of the ripple components in the feedback and feedforward paths and their interaction in the current shaping controller was examined. Based on this analysis, a ripple cancellation method is proposed. It entails a modification of the feedforward and feedback filters and is independent on the power level. The analytical results derived in this study were confirmed by simulation.
