Abstract
The propagation of plane unsteady flexural waves in an elastic plate, placed on the surface of a finite-depth liquid is investigated. The motion of the plate is described by a refined theory that includes the inertia of rotation and the shear deformation, whereas the liquid is regarded as inviscid, compressible and isentropic.
