Abstract
This paper introduces two approaches in order to analyze various nonlinear phenomena in the optical microsphere. First, is a theory that is based upon the Airy-function approximation to the spherical Bessel function. The second is the use of microscopic block equations in order to describe the active media inside the sphere. The threshold condition obtained between the first and the second approach was compared and appeared to be in good agreement with each other.
