Abstract
A new method is presented for the analysis of the steady-state and transient processes in single - phase cycloconverters, which are widely applied in industrial electronics. The z-transform is used to derive the equation governing the cycloconverter's current. Difference linear equations describing nonlinear processes in cycloconverters are found. An analytical solution of the problem is obtained. Physical experiments and numerical calculations have been carried out to verify the results and good agreement has been observed.
