Abstract

In the last few decades localization of light has drawn considerable attention. Anderson localization was originally formulated for electrons in disordered lattices [1], but now this effect is being theoretically and experimentally demonstrated also for light in various photonic systems: in disordered two-dimensional photonic lattices [2], in synthetic photonic lattices [3] and even in biological nanostructures of native silk [4].
