Abstract

Angular distribution measurements have been carried out on the γ-rays from 15N and 15O following the photodisintegration of 16O. A bremsstrahlung spectrum with 27 MeV endpoint was used, and measurements were taken at three angles, 90°, 120° and 150°. Values of the anisotropy coefficients a2 a0 were obtained for transitions through the states at 6.323, 5.299 and 5.270 MeV of 15N, and the 6.180 MeV state of 15O. The results for transitions to the 6.323 MeV state of 15N and the 6.180 MeV state of 15O produce revised values of the branching ratios to these states, and bring them into agreement with the estimates of Buck and Hill.
