Abstract
The inverse lifetime, 1τs, of spin-flip processes for the conduction electrons in a Heisenberg ferromagnet is calculated in the first Born approximation. It is found that the temperature derivative of 1τs varies as |T-Tc|2ν-γ-1 and is negative above Tc and positive below Tc. Comparison is made with the behavior of the electrical resistivity near Tc. The impact upon the superconducting transition temperature is examined.
