Abstract

1. The1H,13C, and19F NMR spectra have, for the first time, been obtained for various alkylthio-p-fluorobenzenes. 2. Electron densities in these molecules are determined by steric hindrance of the 3p-π sulfur coupling with the benzene ring, the latter estimated from an expression showing the 4-13C and19F CS's as functions of {Mathematical expression}, the steric constant.
