Abstract
This report concerns 3 elderly patients with a progressive hemispheric neurological syndrome in whom the electroencephalographic, brain‐scan, and angiographic findings were indicative of an intracranial neoplastic lesion. For further clarification, air studies were performed and severe generalized brain atrophy was demonstrated. The diagnostic pitfalls raised by angiographic findings which, in arteriosclerotic patients, sometimes may mimic a neoplastic lesion are stressed. The role of air studies in the final diagnosis is discussed. 1972 The American Geriatrics Society
