Abstract

Total vapour pressures have been measured by the isoteniscope method in the acetic +n-butanol, acetic acid + n-hexanol and acetic acid + n-dodecanol systems in the 298.15-318.15K temperature range and in the acetic aicd + n-octanol in the 293.15-318.15 K range. The excess Gibbs energy of mixing GE and the composition of the vapour phase were evaluated by numerical integration of the Gibbs-Duhem equation taking into consideration the dimerization of acetic acid in the vapour phase and the nonideality of the gaseous mixture.Obtained results were compared with the corresponding data determined previously for formic acid + aliphatic alcohol systems.
