Abstract

The asymmetrical bifurcation phenomenon of geometrically nonlinear spherical caps under multiparametrical loading is considered. The many works published until now have examined this phenomenon for spherical caps only under single loads. The purpose of this work is to examine more complicated cases in which systems of external or internal pressure and boundary loads act simultaneously. The axisymmetrical snapping of the cap under such loading is also considered. The solution of these problems by numerical methods provides new data about the influence of the various loading parameters on the symmetrical and asymmetrical buckling phenomena.
