Abstract
Four parameters that affect the selection procedure of an appropriate bend for pneumatic conveying pipe-lines are examined. The parameters are: pressure drop, wear, attrition and build-up. The parameters are examined for four bends: long-radius bend, short-radius elbow, blinded-tee and a turbulence drum (two sizes). It is shown that the suitable selection should relate on the most significant parameter in each designed case.
