AUTOMATIC VIBRATION CONTROL.

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

This study deals with automatic vibration control of both useful and harmful vibrations. Four levels of complexity are considered and corresponding excusables are shown: (1) a rapidly-rotating shaft able to accelerate smoothly past the resonance rotating speed; (2) a cam mechanism that automatically reduces dynamic vibrations that depend on the cam-shaft rotation speed; (3) a four-bar system controlled by a computer for automatic minimizing of undesirable or maximizing of desirable vibrations by varying the driving conditions; and (4) a vibrofeeder with automatic control that keeps it permanently in resonance. A randomized algorithm for the four-bar system is described. Experimental results illustrating these ideas and photographs of the experimental devices are presented.
