Abstract
The crossing of the ground-state band with a band based on a two-particle state has been investigated in the SU(3) limit of the interacting boson model. Energies, E2 transition probabilities, and g factors have been calculated. The results obtained in the SU(3) approximation show that the interacting boson model is able to describe the main features of band crossing.
