Abstract

If SU(3)_color descends from an SU(3)_L×SU(3)_R parent gauge group, quarks may furnish a complex representation involving 3N flavors. Baryon number B is then explicitly broken by SU(3)_L×SU(3)_R/SU(3)_C instanton configurations, inducing ΔB = N processes. The effect is enhanced if left-right symmetry is not respected. The spontaneous emergence of QCD is accompanied by a heavy strongly interacting Majorana fermion, a right-handed neutrino, and a weak CP-violating phase.
