Abstract

Electrodynamics of bianisotropic media (and chiral media, as a particular case) is developing very extensively at present. The fact that, we have an additional (with respect to macroscopic Maxwell equations) coupling between the electric and magnetic fields due to constitutive relations in a medium seems to give very attractive new fundamental problems and applications. In microwaves, bianisotropic media can be realized as an artificial material. Bianisotropic composites based on small ferromagnetic resonators with a special-form surface metallization have been conceptualized recently. In this paper, such bianisotropic interaction is experimentally elucidated which may give a real way to realize complex materials with local properties for new nonreciprocal microwave devices.
