Abstract

The first case of bilateral adnexal torsion (BAT) was reported by Warnek in 1895. He described a case of adnexal torsion that occurred bilaterally simultaneously. Since that time, nine additional cases of BAT have been reported in the literature. Pozzi, in 1900, was the first to report a case of nonsimultaneous BAT (NSBAT), in which the second adnexal torsion occurred 2 weeks after the first. Since 1900, another five such cases have been reported. The present report describes the seventh case of NSBAT in the literature, and reviews information on this disorder.
