Abstract

Indicates a range of biocontrol agents, and gives details of Bacillus thuringiensis ssp. israelensis (serotype H-14) which, in view of its very high toxicity to mosquito and blackfly larvae and its environmental safety, has a good chance of supplementing insecticides currently in use. The very short residual effect, necessitating frequent repeat applications, is a weakness. -P.J.Jarvis
