Abstract

In this paper, a blind synchronization algorithm for estimating the symbol timing offset and the carrier frequency offset (CFO) in OFDM systems has been presented. The synchronization parameters are estimated by utilizing the correlation attribute of the samples of the received signal. The Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) of the CFO estimation has been derived over the entire delay spread of the fading channel. Simulation results are provided here to illustrate the performance of the estimator.
