Abstract

This chapter presents two contemporary Jewish women graphic artists in Britain who engage with issues of gender and Judaism in their life stories through confessional storytelling. Sarah Lightman and Corinne Pearlman are innovative in Jewish women’s confessional writing. Lightman has promoted the genre of Jewish women’s graphic novels at conferences and curated exhibitions around the world, while Pearlman is creative director at Myriad Editions, publishers of literary fiction, nonfiction, and graphic novels.
