Abstract

The 21st century has brought to the forefront of education the task of generating the professionals required by the ever-changing technological workplace. To meet these needs, universities offering degrees in engineering will have to adapt their curricula to bring them in line with the Bologna process. In this paper, we discuss the requirements of a curriculum in mechanical engineering education that will meet the needs of the market for newly graduated engineers. We also present a model that can be used for instituting changes in the curriculum.
