Abstract

This chapter presents a methodology to assess the quality of experimental vapour–liquid equilibrium data for binary systems through so-called thermodynamic consistency tests. Several methods that have been described in the literature and a new contribution made by the authors are presented together with a description of each method. These methods were applied to several binary systems extracted from the literature in order to assess their quality and draw conclusions. A practical example is carried out on unpublished experimental data for a binary system.
