Abstract

The effect of emotional load of the stimuli on its processing has been interpreted in terms of overautomaticity or as permanently lowered threshold for recognition. This special characteristic of emotional stimuli has been used to study how our cognitive system process information. In the present resarch the emotional/neutral manipulation has been used to test the model of Botella, Barriopedro & Suero (2001) for the formation of illusory conjunctions in the time domain. Results of three experiments are analyzed within this context. It is concluded that, in general, they support the general architecture of the model.
