Abstract

The purpose of this work is to study the catalytic properties of domestic SHS zeolites of the TsVM, TsVK, and ZSM type in carbonium ion type of reactions, e. g. , in disproportionation (polymolecular hydrocracking) and isomerization of n-paraffins and disproportionation of toluene. Results show that the dependence of the zeolite activity on the silicate ratio of synthesis is of an external nature. The optimum ratio in the investigated reactions differs widely. An explanation of the effect has been offered on the basis of the difference in the chemical mechanism of formation of carbonium ions as a function of the nature of the starting hydrocarbon and of the presence of a hydrating component.
